Catch of the day
It was a big leap, when the Danish trading company Fjord Foods decided to accompany their recent expansion with a brand new name and visual identity. They chose Kirk & Holm as their collaborators for the project, which not only resulted in a meaningful name, a strong visual identity, unique packaging and much more, but also with gold in the category ‘Professional services’ in the International Visual Identity Awards 2021.
We are very excited, that Fjord Foods were willing to make the leap and allow us to challenge, how a classic trading company should be branded. Frederik Obelitz, one of the owners of Fjord Foods says: “Kirk & Holm really gave us a push – in a good way! They took us out of our comfort zone and lifted us as a brand and company, across our Danish branches. It has been quite a ‘catch’ teaming up with a strategic branding agency close to home, but with an international approach.”
Good things come in pairs
Another of our client designs – for Norddjurs biblioteker, a collection of libraries in Jutland, Denmark – has also been declared winner in the category 'Public sector' in the International Visual Identity Awards 2021. The logo and visual identity were cleverly created with attention to both physical characteristics of the library buildings, the adventures of reading, learning and experiencing, but also with a contemporary and simplistic take on the design.
“We had reached out to several branding and marketing agencies, but quickly gathered, that Kirk & Holm was the best fit, according to a process we could see ourselves in”, says Lars Lerche, Head of Library. “All employees participated in a creative practice, facilitated by Jesper Holm, Founder and partner in Kirk & Holm. We all felt heard and involved, which gave us ownership of the creative solutions, that Jesper presented us with.”
